Pediatrics
Having your children take their medication is not always the easiest task. Some children may have difficulty swallowing their medications or won’t take them because they don’t enjoy the taste. Through compounding, these obstacles can be avoided.
Our licensed compounding pharmacists can change the dosage form for your child, turning an unpleasant tasting capsule into a flavorful lollipop. Medications can also be compounded into gummy treats, oral liquids, topical gels, effervescent drinks, and even pacifier or bottle dosages for infants. Along with alternate dosage forms, there are a number of great flavors that you and your child can choose from.
For children who have allergies, varying drug tolerances, or may require medications which are sugar-free, gluten-free, or dye-free, our pharmacists can work closely with a pediatrician in formulating a medication that meets all the child’s requirements.
Examples of Compounded Medications:
- Anti-itch gel
- Cholestyramine gel
- Magic mouthwash
- Pramoxine HCL Aloe Vera Gel
- Tetracaine lollipops
Testimonials
- “I don't know you, but you have been a Godsend for the past 2 days. (Directed to Toni Lynn Cardoza)”by Daughter of Patient
- “Kathy from St. Luke’s Hospital Pediatrics called with heartfelt thanks to Ed and Toni for the manner in which they responded to the needs of a family/baby that has been in the hospital with Congenital Heart Failure since birth on February 27, 2011.
The compounding prescriptions were prepared upon receipt of the fax from the hospital for immediate pick up, even though the insurance information had not been received nor verified.
Thank you to Ed and Toni for the quality of service, care and comfort they provided this family.”by Rosemary R.
